Leonel Gabriel
Leonel Gabriel , full name Leonel Gabriel Píriz , (born July 13, 1919 in Montevideo , † January 21, 2005 ) was a Uruguayan swimmer and water polo player .
Gabriel was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London . At the games in England he was a member of the water polo team and finished with the team after two defeats against Belgium (1:10) and the USA (0: 7) in 13th place in the Olympic tournament won by Italy. He also took part with the Uruguayan team in the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires . There he started swimming.
