Triphenylborane (abbreviated BPh 3 ) is an organic boron compound .

Extraction and presentation

Triphenylborane can be obtained by reacting boron trifluoride diethyl etherate with phenylmagnesium bromide .

The center of the molecule, BC 3 , has a trigonal planar structure. The phenyl groups are rotated by around 30 ° in relation to the central plane.
