The Leonhard-Wagner-Gymnasium ( LWG for short ) is a scientific , technological and linguistic high school in Schwabmünchen, Bavaria . It is named after the calligrapher Leonhard Wagner . The school used to be part of a comprehensive school and has been independent again since July 31, 1993. The grammar school is a school with an inclusion profile. It offers children with physical disabilities, such as autism, visual or hearing impairments, a normal high school education, taking into account the special needs of the students.
history
In 1958, a state secondary school for girls was established in Schwabmünchen. Four years later, boys were also allowed to attend middle school.
On July 10, 1970, the city council of Schwabmünchen decided to introduce a cooperative comprehensive school . There, the three types of school were not only combined spatially but also organizationally into one school unit. This meant that z. B. an exchange of teachers among the school types was possible. This was approved as a "school experiment" by the Bavarian Ministry of Culture . The comprehensive school started operating in the 1971/72 school year. In September 1972 she moved into a building on Breitweg. After the final expansion, the capacity of the comprehensive school was to be expanded from an initial 373 to 2,300-2400 students.
For the 10th anniversary of the school, the school was named in memory of the well-known calligraphy writer Leonhard Wagner, who was born in Schwabmünchen.
Während der 1990er Jahre wurde die Gesamtschule als Schulversuch beendet und seitdem unter dem Namen Leonhard-Wagner-Gymnasium weitergeführt. 2011 wurde das Abitur nach Klasse 12 eingeführt.
In 2013 the high school achieved national fame after a national radio station hosted a schoolyard concert with "The BossHoss".
