Leonhard Bauer (Economist)

Leonhard Bauer (* 1940 in Vienna ) is an emeritus Austrian professor of economics .

Bauer studied at the University of World Trade in Vienna with a degree in business administration and initially worked in industry and at a bank. In 1966 he became an assistant at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. In 1976 he was appointed associate professor for the first time, and in 1984 he became full professor of economics and political economy at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His main research interests include modern economics as well as Sigmund Freud's psychology and its effects on economic thinking. He has now retired.
