The leopard armored catfish ( Corydoras leopardus ) is a freshwater fish from the genus Corydoras . The home of the fish is the South American Amazon. The leopard armored catfish is an aquarium fish . It is about 6 cm tall. Externally it is often confused with the three-banded armored catfish ( Corydoras trilineatus ) and the July armored catfish ( Corydoras julii ). However, the drawing of the July armored catfish is dominated by dots, while the leopard armored catfish has at least one stripe. Compared to the three-banded armored catfish, whose design can indeed be confusingly similar, the leopard armored catfish is longer-snouted.
Like all armored catfish of the genus Corydoras , the leopard armored catfish is also an intestinal breath , so it has to get to the surface of the water from time to time.
