Leopold Grünzweig

Leopold Grünzweig (born December 24, 1923 in Freundorf ; † June 17, 2003 in Tulln ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). He was regional cultural advisor and from 1980 to 1986 Deputy Governor of Lower Austria .

Life

Leopold Grünzweig attended the St. Pölten Teachers Training College . After the end of the Second World War and his return from British captivity, he completed his training and taught at the Sieghartskirchen secondary school . In 1955 he became the executive councilor there , and from 1970 to 1972 he was also mayor.

In 1959 he was elected to the state parliament of Lower Austria . From 1969 he was in the state government as regional councilor responsible for culture and education. From 1980 to 1986 Grünzweig was party chairman of the SPÖ Lower Austria and deputy governor.
