Leopold Ruckteschl

Leopold Ruckteschl (born July 8, 1882 in Fischamend ; † December 15, 1957 ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ) and carpenter. Ruckteschl was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1932 to 1934 .

After attending elementary school, Ruckteschl completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and did his military service between 1914 and 1918 during the First World War . Ruckteschl, who lived in Fischamend, was elected to the local council in 1919 and held the office of mayor between 1929 and 1934. He also represented the Social Democratic Labor Party between May 21, 1932 and February 16, 1934 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and lost his state parliament mandate after the SDAP was banned. As a result of the February fighting , he was arrested in 1934 and again in 1944. After the Second World War , Ruckteschl took over the role of mayor of Fischamend from 1945 to 1954, which had been annexed to Vienna in 1938 . After Fischamend was finally relegated to Lower Austria, he was mayor again between 1954 and 1955. He was also active in the construction and woodworkers' union.
