Leopoldo Torre Nilsson

Leopoldo Torre Nilsson (born May 5, 1924 in Buenos Aires ; † September 8, 1978 ibid) was an Argentine writer and screenwriter and son of Leopoldo Torres Rios, who also worked as a director . Several of his films were based on novels by Torre Nilsson's wife Beatriz Guidos .

Life

At the age of 15, Torre Nilsson, nicknamed Babsy or Leo Towers , worked in his father's films, was first assistant director and then screenwriter before he was responsible for his first own film in 1954. He first found recognition in Europe and then became one of the most successful directors in Latin America. His film The Hide and Seek game was banned from gambling during the government of the military junta because it "failed to meet the new Argentine ethical and social values".
