Life

Beatriz Guido was a daughter of the architect Ángel Guido , who u. a. the "Monumento Nacional a la Bandera" had created and his wife Berta Eiran, who came from Uruguay. Guido studied at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and began his first literary attempts during this time.

In 1954 Guido was able to successfully debut with her first novel “La casa del ángel”. Politically interested and committed, she took a stand against the prevailing Peronism , an attitude that was also repeatedly addressed in her works.

On April 15, 1951, she was a guest of the writer Ernesto Sabato , where she met Leopoldo Torre Nilsson , one of the most important directors in South America of his time. She worked with him in the following years; she edited various scripts for him and he also filmed several of her novels. In the spring of 1959, Guido and Torre Nilsson married in Buenos Aires.

In 1984 she appointed President Raúl Alfonsín to the Diplomatic Service of Argentina and in the same year sent her to Madrid as cultural attaché . She died at the age of 64 and found her final resting place there.
