Leopoldo de Luis
Leopoldo de Luis (actually Leopoldo Urrutia de Luis ; born May 11, 1918 in Córdoba , Spain , † November 21, 2005 in Madrid ) was a Spanish poet.
At the age of one his family moved to Valladolid , where he spent his youth. At the age of 17 he moved to Madrid, where he spent most of his life.
In the Spanish Civil War he fought on the side of the Republicans against the rebels of the later dictator Francisco Franco . From 1939 to 1942 Leopoldo de Luis was in prison.
Apart from his poems, Leopoldo de Luis published biographies and literary reviews.
