Lepsi ( Kazakh Лепсі ; until 2010 Лепсинск Lepsinsk ) is a village in Kazakhstan with around 1300 inhabitants (2010).
It is located on the northern edge of the Djungarian Alatau , near the Chinese border, on the Lepsi River .
In the past, the land was irrigated with the water of the Lepsi and onions , tomatoes and cucumbers were grown. After perestroika and the collapse of agriculture, the irrigation canals fell into disrepair , today only cattle breeding is practiced and many people are leaving the place.
