Leslie Banning

Leslie Banning , also Leslye Banning written (* 15. November 1930 in Los Angeles , California as Mary Louise Welch ) is an American actress .

Life

Mary Louise Welch grew up in Los Angeles County and graduated from Glendale High School. At the age of 19 she got a contract with Universal Pictures in 1949 and was seen in her first film Renegades of the Sage under the stage name Leslie Banning in 1949 . The first leading role followed in 1951 in the Western Cactus Caravan .

In the following years, Banning worked as an actress in a total of 18 films and television series. Among other things, she was the leading actress in several westerns. However, she has also appeared in comedies and romance films. One of her most famous appearances of her career had Banning in 1951 in the role of Jennie Stone in the film noir A Satan Woman at the side of Robert Mitchum . In 1956 she ended her film career. However, Banning remained active as an actress and became part of the small theater group Simi Valley Horizon Players , with which she performed the musical Hello, Dolly! performed.

In 1949, Leslie married Banning Wallace Russell, the brother of actress Jane Russell . The marriage ended in divorce at a later date. In her second marriage she was married to the teacher Keith E. Rogers since 1960 and was a mother of seven. The couple moved to Simi Valley , where Banning still lives to this day.
