Lessinghaus (Wolfenbüttel)
The Lessinghaus is a building built in 1733 in Wolfenbüttel .
It was built in the style of a late Baroque French park palace and used as a court officials' house. In 1777 it was assigned to the librarian Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, who had been active in Wolfenbüttel for a long time, as a residence after his marriage to Eva König . Lessing lived and worked here until his death in 1781.
Today the house belongs to the Herzog-August-Bibliothek and is a museum about the life and work of Lessing in Wolfenbüttel.
