Leukippos (Magnesia)
Leukippos ( Greek Λεύκιππος ) is the founder of Magnesia am Meander in Greek mythology .
In a Scholion to Apollonios of Rhodes , Leukippos is a Karer who, coming from Crete in Asia Minor, founds Magnesia am Meander.
Leucippus was identified with Leucippus , the son of Xanthios , based on an inscription on an Athenian statue . However, since the inscription was not made until the 2nd century AD, the identity of the statue of Leucippus with one of the two mythical city founders is questionable.
