Hanne-Vibeke Holst (born February 21, 1959 in Hjørring ) is a Danish journalist and writer who was awarded the Søren Gyldendal Prize and De Gyldne Laurbær .

Life

Hanne- Vibeke Holst, eldest daughter of the writers Knud Holst Andersen and Kirsten Holst , studied journalism after attending school and since 1984 worked as a journalist for the daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende and its Sunday edition Søndags BT

She made her literary debut in 1980 with Hejsa, Majsa! . In the following years she wrote numerous other books in which she dealt in particular with the role of modern women who are exposed to new challenges on the one hand and old problems on the other. Her books have been translated into German , Dutch and Swedish translated .

In 2002 she published her novel Kronprinsessen (The Crown Princess), in which a young, idealistic politician is gradually disillusioned. She gradually realizes that it is impossible to combine her private life with the requirements of a ministerial office. After internal party disputes and critical press releases, she gives up her career. In the opinion of many reviewers, Mona Sahlin is one of the role models of the fictional protagonist and the so-called Toblerone affair as a literary background. The book was filmed in Sweden for a television series ; Alexandra Rapaport embodied the role of the politician . For this book she was awarded the Søren Gyldendal Prize in 2003. In 2009 she received the De Gyldne Laurbær Prize for Dronningeofret .

Hanne-Vibeke Holst is also politically active. She has not only been the Special Ambassador of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since 1999 , but also a member of the National UNESCO Commission.
