Lew Schneider

Lew Schneider (born July 18, 1961 in Chapel Hill , North Carolina ) is an American television producer , screenwriter , actor and stand-up comedian .

Life

Schneider was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts. In 1979 he graduated from Brookline High School. Then he went to the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1983. While there, he got his first taste of sketch comedy as a member of the male music and comedy troupe The Mask and Wig Club .

In the fall of 1989, Schneider began his first regular television job as host of the Nickelodeon game show Make The Grade . His stand-up act on HBO One Night Stand was featured in 1992. He starred in the two television sitcoms Wish You Were Here (1990) and Down the Shore (1992-93) with.

Schneider began writing for television in 1993. His credits include The George Wendt Show , The John Larroquette Show , and The Naked Truth . He began writing for the US sitcom Everyone Loves Raymond in its first season and also as a supervising and executive producer. As part of the production team for Everybody Loves Raymond , he received two Emmys for an outstanding comedy series in 2003 and 2005 .

Schneider appeared as Marty in the 2004 comedy Seeing Other People .

Schneider is a consulting producer for the American series Fox's Dad .

He married Elizabeth Abbe in 1986 and has three sons.
