Lewis Holmes Kenan
Lewis Holmes Kenan (* 1833 in Milledgeville , Baldwin County , Georgia , † 1871 ibid) was an American lawyer and politician . He was the son of Augustus Holmes Kenan and Henrietta Alston, great-nephew of Willis Alston , nephew of Augustus A. Alston, and first cousin of Robert A. Alston .
Kenan served as an officer in the Confederate Army after the outbreak of the American Civil War . After the war he held a seat in the Georgia Senate from 1867 to 1868 , where he represented the 20th electoral district .
He was shot dead in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1871.
