The research calls Lex Ursonensis the founding document (city law) of the Roman city Colonia Iulia Genetiva , today Osuna . Basically it goes back to Gaius Iulius Caesar , was perhaps brought before the people's assembly by Marcus Antonius after Caesar's death and was later revised.

inscription

Parts of a version of the text from the Flavian period are preserved in a bronze inscription discovered in 1870/71. There are four tables with sections 61–82, 91–106 and 123–134.

Numerous details on the administration of the city are preserved in the individual sections. Section 74 forbids the cremation of the dead near the city and Section 127 regulates the seating arrangements in the theater.
