Li Ao ( Chinese  李敖 , Pinyin Lǐ Áo ; born April 25, 1935 in Harbin , Heilongjiang , then Manchukuo , now the People's Republic of China ; † March 18, 2018 in Taipei ) was a Chinese writer, historian and politician .

He loved to provoke; For example, he sprayed tear gas in the Taiwanese parliament in the fall of 2006 to protest against a US $ 16 billion purchase of arms.
