Li Yajuan

Li Yajuan ( Chinese  李亚娟 , Pinyin Lǐ Yàjuān , * 1971 in Shuangliao (双辽), Jilin Province , People's Republic of China ) is a former Chinese weightlifter.

Career

Li Yajuan began at the age of 14 years, discovered by talent scouts of the Weightlifting Federation, in Shuangliao, with the weight lifting . As a 15-year-old she already weighed over 100 kg and was therefore predestined for the heavyweight class (over 82.5 kg body weight at that time). In 1986 he was accepted into the provincial selection of Jilin and in 1988 he was appointed to the Chinese national team. At the age of 19, now weighing 120 kg, she represented China at the World Championships in Sarajevo and became world champion. Three more world titles in a duel followed by 1993. In total, she won eleven world titles. Only in 1990 she was beaten in a tear by the American Karyn S. Marshall at a World Cup .

After 1995 she ended her active career and became a trainer.

  • 1992, 1st place , World Championships in Varna , over 82.5 kg body weight, with 265 kg, ahead of Erika Takacs, 215 kg and Seguria Eridania, Dominican Republic , 202.5 kg;
  • 1993, 1st place , World Championships in Melbourne , over 83 kg, with 260 kg, ahead of Carla Garrett and Lobow Grigurko, Ukraine ;
  • 1994, 1st place , Asian Games in Hiroshima , over 83 kg body weight;
