Dabukuri curse

On May 7, 2017, as part of the constitutional crisis and the protests in Venezuela 2014-2017, the Venezuelan federal government banned him from political office for 15 years. In the run-up, the two-time presidential candidate and current head of government of the state Miranda Henrique Capriles had also been excluded from all political offices for 15 years.

In response to the measures taken by the central government, Liborio Guarulla then announced that he would impose the curse of Dabukuri on the decision-makers of the Venezuelan central government :

If they have power, then we have power too. I will call my ancestors and shamans so that the curse of Dabukuri will hit those who want us evil, I assure them that they will not die without distress. I assure them that before they die they will suffer and their souls will wander through the darkest and most polluted places before they can in any way close their eyes ».

Protests 2019

Guarulla was interviewed by ARD at a demonstration on February 12, 2019 for the opening of the border to allow relief supplies into the country, as demanded by parliament and interim president Juan Guaidó .

« We indigenous people supported the socialist government when it started 20 years ago. It was about more democracy. »

« We didn't think it would turn into a dictatorship. Our gods want us to change the country so that we can live together again. The turning point will come. Unfortunately, a dramatic end is looming. Dictators are stupid and stupid. Your exit must always be bloody. ».
