Lichtenburg gate tower
The Lichtenburger gate tower is a listed tower of the historic city fortifications of Prettin in Saxony-Anhalt .

The tower stands at the former Lichtenburger Tor at the northern end of Prettin's old town, on the west side of the Lichtenburger Tor street.
Architecture and history
The slender round tower was built in the 14th century from brick and at the base with ashlar from lawn iron stone as a city gate tower. It is crowned with a baroque mansard-roofed hood and lantern, which was probably built after the middle of the 18th century . The squat, ogival entrance to the tower is at the eaves level of the adjacent residential building. In the upper third of the tower there is a German ribbon as decoration .
In the local register of monuments , the tower is listed as a gate tower under registration number 094 35251.
