Lichtner Seamount is an undersea mountain in the Lasarew Sea off the Princess Martha Coast of Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica .
The mountain was named after the German cartographer Werner Lichtner (October 2, 1945 - April 12, 1989), who was active in the field of computer cartography and computer-aided mapping with a focus on marine cartography. After Dr. Hans-Werner Schenke from the Alfred Wegener Institute proposed the name in 1999, it was officially adopted by the American Advisory Committee for Undersea Features in April 2000 .
