The Lichtwark is since 1948 in Hamburg - Bergedorf appearing German-language cultural magazine .

history

When newspapers by German publishers were still banned by the Allies in Hamburg after the Second World War , the Lichtwark Committee in Bergedorf published a monthly newspaper from November 1948 until March 1950 under the title “Lichtwark Committee”.

Following the suggestion of Mayor Max Brauer , Lichtwark committees were set up in all seven Hamburg districts in 1948 to “ renew the face of the Hanseatic city in the spirit of Alfred Lichtwark through advice and suggestions ”.

After the Hamburg newspapers were approved again, the paper appeared from then on once or twice a year as "Lichtwark - Mitteilungsblatt des Lichtwark Committee Bergedorf" and from 1958 with the title "LICHTWARK".

From issue no. 55 in 1992, the culture magazine appeared under the name "Lichtwark-Heft". Today it is simply called "Lichtwark" (since issue no. 76) - with the subtitle "The magazine for history, culture and society".

editor

Until 1999 the Lichtwark committee of the Bergedorf district office was the publisher. Since the 65th edition in 2000, Horst Brüers has followed as editor. The Lichtwark booklet has been produced and published by the culture and history office in Hamburg-Bergedorf since 2015.
