Lidsija Jarmoschyna ( Belarusian Лідзія Міхайлаўна Ярмошына , Russian Лидия Михайловна Ермошина Lidija Michailovna Yermoshina ; * 29. January 1953 in Slutsk , Minsk Region , then the Soviet Union ), the chairman of the central Belarusian commission for elections and referendums ( Цэнтральнай камісіі па выбарах і правядзенні рэспубліканскіх рэферэндумаў Беларусі ).

Life

Lidsija Jarmoschyna graduated in jurisprudence at the Russian State University of Immanuel Kant Kaliningrad 1975. From 1975 to 1987 she was a lawyer in various companies. From 1988 to 1992 she worked as the chairman of the legal authority of the Babruysk Executive Committee. She then became a member of the Commission for Elections and Referenda, which she was a member of from 1992 to 1996. She took over the chairmanship of the Central Election Commission on December 6, 1996 and in this function announced the result of the protests-accompanied presidential elections in Belarus in 2010 , in which Aljaksandr Lukashenka was elected for the fourth time. On January 31, 2011, Jarmoschyna was put on a visa blacklist of the European Union after she was found responsible by the European Commission for "violating international electoral standards".
