The Liebstädter street is a street in the Dresden districts Gruna , Seidnitz and chasing . It crosses Winterbergstrasse and Bodenbacher Strasse .

In the course of the construction of the Bodenbacher Strasse prefabricated residential complex , Liebstädter Strasse was lengthened in an arc to the north of Bodenbacher Strasse. One of the first new housing estates in WBS70 construction was built here in Dresden. Today the Schieferburg children's and youth center , an example of organic architecture, is located at Liebstädter Straße 29 , and the Autohaus Dresden Reick GmbH & Co.KG building at Liebstädter Straße 5.

history

Between Winterbergstrasse and Bodenbacher Strasse, the street was once part of the former Reick-Grunaer connecting route . By resolution of the city council on November 11, 1903, Liebstädter Strasse was named after the city of Liebstadt . Before that, the street was called Reick Reicker Straße because of its direction to the neighboring village , in the Seidnitz district around the mid-1870s and in Gruna since 1893.

The extension of what is now Liebstädter Strasse south of Winterbergstrasse to Landgraben was built by property owner Hietzig in 1897 (files I / II / E / 26) and opened to public transport in 1898. This stretch of road is referred to as street L in the file.

In 1974–1976, Liebstädter Strasse was extended in a U-shape north of Bodenbacher Strasse, and three more access roads were built alongside Bärenburger Weg.

Home flak battery 238 / IV (1943–1944)

Even before 1943, an anti-aircraft post had been set up on Liebstädter Strasse, which was operated by a home barrage battery. The home flak battery 238 / IV with four anti-aircraft guns was stationed here in the spring of 1943. This was part of the anti-aircraft protection for the Dresden city area, consisting of eight heavy and four home flak batteries, which had 84 guns. The first batteries were cleared in 1944. In November 1944, the battery on Liebstädter Strasse was also withdrawn.

To commemorate this flak battery, a reminder depot was set up at Bodenbacher Strasse 26a as part of the art project "Gravuren des war - dunning depots in Dresden", which started in 2001.

Tram line S 25 in 1945

After the air raids on Dresden , tram line 25 to Kleinzschachwitz started on Liebstädter Strasse on February 23, 1945 and operated with interruptions until it was closed on October 17, 1945. The line was interrupted on April 17, 1945 due to an air raid, from April 23, 1945 to April 27, 1945 due to a lack of electricity and from May 7 to 17, 1945 due to the invasion of the Red Army .

Development

The Schieferburg children's and youth center is located at Liebstädter Straße 29 , an example of organic architecture in Dresden. The building was built in 1996 by Weise & Treuner in the Dresden district of Gruna on the site of an old rubble dump.

The main building of Autohaus Dresden Reick GmbH & Co. KG (formerly: VEB Autoreparaturwerk Dresden-Reick ) is located at Liebstädter Straße 5 . The building is an eight-storey building with a gross floor area of 12,500 square meters and was built from 1969 to 1975 using a reinforced concrete skeleton assembly method based on designs by the architect Günther Thiele . The interior design was done by Heinz Zimmermann. The building consists of a closed factory complex with an inner courtyard. The emphasis on the entrance is remarkable, the entrance including the staircase was given a glass facade as a vertical accent within the horizontal facade structure through ribbon windows with concrete parapets. The concrete parapets were decorated with cartridges until the renovation . The gable, clad with exposed aggregate concrete, shows a vertical ribbon of windows and was provided with balconies.
