history

In 1920 it was founded as a politically and denominationally independent trade union "Arbeiterverband". In 1931 the union split into the "upper association" based in Triesen and the more moderate "lower association" based in Schaan . In 1935 both associations reunited. The workers' union now pursued a policy of cooperation with the government of the principality . In 1970 the name was changed to “Liechtenstein Employees' Association”. In 2002 the association was finally given its current name. In December 2008 the LANV was accepted into the International Trade Union Confederation.

Publications

The "upper association" published the "Liechtensteinische Arbeiter-Zeitung" from March 1932 to July 1933. Today the Liechtenstein Workers' Association publishes the association newspaper "LANV info".
