The couchette scales ( Russian взнуздание , also called bridle ) is a torture method from the time of Stalinism .

method

A long, coarse cloth is pulled through the prisoner's mouth (the "bridle"), which is then tied over the back at the heels. In this posture he is left for longer, sometimes for several days, without eating or drinking.
