Lieselotte Wicke (born Lieselotte Schum ; * December 14, 1914 in Düsseldorf ; † March 18, 1989 ibid) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and commitment

In 1926 Lieselotte Wicke became a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth , a youth association of the SPD. She was an assistant in the Reichsarbeitsgemeinschaft der Kinderfreunde , which was banned in 1933. In 1935 she married Alfred Wicke (1907–1997), who was then chairman of the SPD district of Düsseldorf-Stadtmitte and later resistance fighter against the Nazi regime . From 1948 to 1954 she was a member of the city council of Düsseldorf. From 1950 to 1954 she worked for the Falkenheim Düsseldorf, first as a secretary and later as an honorary managing director of the association. She was also involved as a member of the Working Group of Formerly Persecuted Social Democrats (AvS).

She was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1954 to 1975. In her first electoral term to the 3rd state parliament 1954–1958 she stood as a candidate for electoral district 46 Düsseldorf-Ost , which was called Düsseldorf IV in the following electoral terms. In the state parliament, Lieselotte Wicke was, among other things, deputy chairwoman of the petitions committee and a member of the parliamentary committee of the SPD.

Honors

Lieselotte Wicke was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on December 12, 1986 .
