The Liga ASOBAL 2019/20 is the 30th season of the Liga ASOBAL , the top division in Spanish men's handball. The season began on September 6, 2019 with the game between defending champions FC Barcelona and Helvetia Anaitasuna (42:25). The season was canceled prematurely after the 19th matchday due to the coronavirus crisis .
The association RFEBM has determined that the league leaders FC Barcelona will receive the championship title and qualify for the next EHF Champions League season. There will be no relegated teams, but promoted players from the 2nd division, which is why the next season will be played in the 1st division with 18 teams. For the upcoming European Handball League, the teams qualifying for places 2 and 3 in the first round table, Ademar León and Bidasoa Irún, as well as the finalist of the King's Cup Balonmano Benidorm.
