The ligamentum ovarii proprium ("ovarian ligament ") is part of the fastening apparatus of the ovaries ( ovaries ). This is a peritoneum duplication that extends from the fallopian tube corner of the uterus to the ovary and is located in the ligamentum latum uteri (broad ligament of the uterus). Historically, the ligamentum ovarii proprium is the upper part of the inferior gonadal ligament .

The ovaries are located below the fallopian tubes and are attached by the ligamentum ovarii proprium and the ligamentum latum ovarii. The ligamentum ovarii proprium separates the main part of the ligamentum latum uteri, the mesometrium, and the hanging apparatus of the fallopian tube (mesosalpinx) above the ligament.
