The ligamentum transversum humeri ( Latin for 'transverse ligament of the humerus ') is a ligament in the area of the shoulder joint . It is made up of transverse fibers of the joint capsule and fibers of the subscapularis muscle . The ligamentum transversum humeri holds the tendon of the musculus biceps brachii in the groove between the two cusps of the humerus ( sulcus intertubercularis ). The band is developed in humans, but also in predators . In the dog, its tear leads to a biceps tendon dislocation .
