Ligbi (people)

The Ligbi are a people of Ghana and the Ivory Coast , also called Banda , Jogo , Ligwi , Nigbi , Nigwi , Nwela , Tuba , Vwela , Weela and Wela .

In Ghana, 15,000 to 16,000 Ligbi live in the northwest of the Brong-Ahafo region, east of Sampa and northwest of Wenchi . The name Banda is used for speakers of the Nafaanra language. In Ghana, one of the two existing distribution areas borders on the ethnic group of the Kulango (Bondoukou) and the Nafaanra .

About 6,000 Ligbi live in the Ivory Coast on the border with Ghana. Her mother tongue is the Ligbi .
