Ligue vaudoise

The Ligue vaudoise is a conservative political organization and think tank active in the Swiss canton of Vaud .

history

  • In the 1920s, the Ordre et Tradition organization was first established under the driving force of Marcel Regamey .
  • In 1933 the Ligue vaudoise was founded to fight the wine tax and join the front movement .
  • In 1938 the Ligue vaudoise fought against the introduction of the penal code .
  • 1940 La Nation magazine was published ; the organization had around 100 employees and around 1,000 members.
  • In 1986 and 2002 the accession of Switzerland to the UN was fought.
  • In 1992 they fought against Switzerland joining the EEA .
  • 1993 Together with other organizations, the Ligue vaudoise submitted a referendum against the racism penal norm .

Political orientation

Until the 1940s the Ligue vaudoise was not hostile to National Socialism and was strongly anti-communist . The canton of Vaud is seen by its members as a nation . Today the Ligue vaudoise is fighting the centralization of Switzerland, it is strongly federalist oriented.
