Liis Juergens

Liis Jürgens (born April 7, 1983 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian composer.

life and work

Liis Jürgens learned composition and harp at an early age at the Tallinn Music High School, which she graduated in 2002. Since 2002 she has been studying composition with Helena Tulve and harp with Eda Peäske at the Estonian Music Academy . In 2005/2006 she went to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna to study . Jürgens has been a member of the Estonian Composers' Association ( Estonian Eesti Heliloojate Liit ) since 2006 .

Liis Jürgens' compositions have been presented at numerous international music festivals. She works mainly in the field of new music .
