Lijst 14

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lijst 14 (List 14) was a common list of Dutch small parties to the 2006 parliamentary elections took.

history

For the parliamentary elections of 2006 a number of small parties and organizations came together to form the common list. Lijst 14 saw itself as a political movement, not a party, and as such had no actual party program. The top candidate was Huib Poortman from De Groenen . In the election, Lijst 14 ran in all 19 constituencies with the exception of the constituency of Zwolle , but only got 2,181 votes (0.0%) and thus did not move into the Dutch lower house .

Positions represented

In the absence of a party program with precisely defined demands and goals, the list rather included a few positions called "points of prayer" that came from the individual parties. Concern about the encroachment on privacy due to increasing surveillance was expressed, as was the alienation about the sending of Dutch troops to Iraq . The genetic manipulation of food should become a more important issue again, as should the growing gap between rich and poor, according to Lijst 14. There was also an abuse of the euro , which was responsible for increasing impoverishment; the candidate Martin Dessing, author of a book critical of the euro, wanted to put it up for discussion again.
