Hans Levknecht (born November 1, 1933 in Grevesmühlen ; † February 7, 2015 in Eisenach ) was a German football player and coach .

Hans Levknecht played in Grevesmühlen, Warnemünde and Eisenach, before playing for SC Empor Rostock from 1956 to 1958 . After he only made ten appearances in the first team there (two in the major league , four in the league and four in the FDGB Cup , one cup goal), he moved to Phoenix Lübeck despite the associated six-month ban . A short time later Levknecht went to VfR Kaiserslautern , where his uncle was president. After his first game against Neu-Isenburg (0: 3) on August 3, 1959 the press said: “One of the few bright spots was the newly signed Levknecht. He introduced himself as a thoughtful playmaker and also a powerful striker. "

For a four-digit sum, Levknecht moved on to the Grazer AK before he moved to Wismar for private reasons, where he put himself in the service of TSG Wismar . However, after a meniscus operation on both knees, he ended his active career in 1964.

Levknecht moved to the sidelines, where he worked as a coach for several years. TSG Wismar, ISG Schwerin , Motor Eisenach and Stahl Hennigsdorf were some of his stops. The most successful time he had from 1970 to 1974 with TSG in the league, with which he reached the promotion round in 1972. From 1981 to 1987 Levknecht was responsible for the young talent sport of the DTSB in the Potsdam district before he returned to Wismar and worked at the Wismar University in the field of sport.

At the beginning of 2015 Levknecht died at the age of 81 in a nursing home in Eisenach.
