Lily Anggreny

Lily Anggreny (born September 15, 1960 in Indonesia ) is a former German disabled athlete .

Career

Anggreny is paraplegic and therefore dependent on a wheelchair. Since she still wanted to do competitive sport, she, who came to Bochum from Indonesia to study, became a member of TV Wattenscheid 01 , where she practiced long-distance running in a wheelchair and soon performed so well in wheelchair running over the long disciplines of 1000 m and above that she Member of the German National Disabled Sports Team. With this team she took part in the 1992 Paralympic Summer Games in Barcelona , where she won three Olympic medals, one gold, one silver and one bronze. In the race over 5000 m in the performance group TW 3-4 she won the gold medal, over 10,000 m she made the silver medal and in the marathon she won a bronze medal.

She was also at the Paralympic Summer Games in 1996 and won a bronze medal in the 1000 m.

For winning the medals at the Paralympic Summer Games, she was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf in 1992 by Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker and in 1996 by Federal President Roman Herzog .
