Lim Su-gyung (born November 6, 1968 in Seoul ) is a South Korean politician, social activist and human rights activist.

biography

She became famous in 1989 because she took part in the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in Pyongyang , despite South Korea's ban . She got the nickname Flower of the Association (Hangul: 통일 의 꽃) because she represented the South Korean student organization Jeondaehyop there. When she returned to South Korea via the Joint Security Area , she was arrested there for violating the National Security Law of South Korea.

In April 2012 she was elected to the Gukhoe , South Korea's unicameral parliament, to represent the Minju-tonghap Party ( 민주 통합 당 , Minju-tonghap-dang, United Democratic Party) .

The film La chica del sur is dedicated to her life.
