Lina Drechsler Adamson

Lina Drechsler Adamson ( Emily Caroline Adamson ; * 1876 in Toronto , † February 28, 1960 in Toronto) was a Canadian violinist and music teacher.

The daughter of Bertha Drechsler Adamson studied from 1896 to 1898 and from 1899 to 1900 at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Leipzig . In 1898 she took part in exams with a string quartet which included the Danish cellist Agga Fritsche . 1904–05, like her mother, she studied with Hans Sitt , and later perfected her training in Switzerland with André de Ribaupierre .

On her return to Canada she played in the Toronto Conservatory String Quartet led by her mother and made her debut in 1905 as a concert soloist at Massey Hall with the Conservatory String Orchestra, also under the direction of her mother. Around 1908 she founded the Toronto Ladies Trio with the pianist Eugénie Quéhen and the cellist Lois Winslow . As a violin teacher she worked at the Peterborough Conservatory and the Toronto Conservatory of Music .
