Hans Sitt
Hans Sitt (born September 21, 1850 in Prague , † March 10, 1922 in Leipzig ) was a Bohemian - German composer .
Life
Sitt received his musical training in Prague. He became concertmaster and later theater Kapellmeister in Wroclaw and then in Prague. From 1873 to 1880 he worked as the municipal conductor in Chemnitz . From 1883 to 1921 he was violin teacher at the Leipzig Conservatory and conductor of the Bach Society , and at the same time violist of the Brodski Quartet until 1895 .
Works (selection)
Sitt composed three violin concertos and several concertinos for violin and orchestra, two cello concertos, one viola concerto and two concert pieces for viola.
- In 1917 he published a new and expanded edition of Daily Studies: 24 Etudes for Violin, for Acquiring and Maintaining Fluency: Op. 2 created by August von Adelburg in the 1850s , published by Kahnt in Leipzig. OCLC 206421486
