Linda Geiser

Linda Geiser (born May 13, 1935 in Köniz near Bern ) is a Swiss actress . She is best known to the television audience for her role as Johanna Blanc in the Swiss TV series Lüthi und Blanc , and as the mother of the Kummerbuben in the series of the same name.

Life

Her acting talent was discovered at the age of 15. She completed an apprenticeship at the drama school of the Conservatory for Music in Bern. The teachers were both Margarethe Schell von Noë and Uta Hagen . She later took acting lessons in English with Herbert Berghof .

Linda Geiser has lived in New York since 1961, where she founded her own off-off Broadway theater called Counterpoint . Linda Geiser also played in numerous plays and was also able to appear in films in the USA. For example in “ The Pawnbroker ” by Sidney Lumet .

Linda Geiser comes back to Switzerland regularly to work as an actress here too. She is not only active as an actress, but also as a visual artist. Since 1978 she has organized her own exhibitions with jewelry, handicrafts and painting. Linda Geiser offers art and city tours for Swiss women in New York.
