history

The foundation stone was laid on December 16, 1963. The name was given on February 19, 1965. The city council gave it the name Lindenau School because of the corridor in which it was built. April 21, 1965 was the first day of school for 478 pupils, the headmaster was Ernst Roß. The school was inaugurated on February 28, 1965 by the Hessian Prime Minister Georg-August Zinn . On June 2, 1969, the topping-out ceremony for the "funding level building" took place. In September 1969 the Hanau district became the new school authority. On June 25, 1972, construction began on the extension building for secondary level I. On August 20, 1973, classes began in this new building. In October 2006, the pedagogical lunchtime supervision with lunch, homework supervision and working groups will be introduced. In September 2008, the first Hanau citizen solar system went into operation on the roof of the Lindenau School. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new canteen took place in January 2009 and was inaugurated in October of the same year.

General

One of the main focuses of the Lindenau School are the musical subjects: There is a separate wind class outside of music lessons. There is also a science class, a German class, an art class, an English class and a sports class. In the school year 2008/2009, a further three project classes were introduced in grades 5 and 6 (theater / literature, languages, art) in addition to the existing project classes (wind instruments, natural sciences, sports) and the start of the first SchuB class in grade 8.

In its nature as a comprehensive school with an integrated upper level, it combines under one roof a grammar school with a grammar school upper level as well as secondary and secondary school. There is a ladder for each of the three levels.
