Lindenstrasse 5 in Thundorf in Lower Franconia

The building at Lindenstrasse 5 in the Bavarian municipality of Thundorf in Lower Franconia in the Bad Kissingen district is one of the Thundorf architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian list of monuments under number D-6-72-157-5 .

history

As the inscription "Hans / Koch / Söder / 1690" on a corner post of the building shows, the property was built in 1690 by Hans Kochsöder. Hans Kochsöder is proven in old documents from the time of the Lords of Rosenbach and from 1677 to 1683 as a Protestant resident of the place.

In 1875 the estate was sold by Georg Hückmann to the carpenter Kaspar Korn for 800 guilders . Before 1900 a small bakery was added to the northwest side of the building. In 1902 it was acquired by the Geier family. Around 1950, the roof was converted and tilted single-pane windows were installed. Around 1967, two compartments with an already heavily faded painting of a tailor and a woman reaper were removed to allow better light into the interior of the building . In 1974 the facade was renovated, with the red-brown plaster painted white.
