Lindsay is an impact crater on the front of the moon , east of Hipparchus and north of Andel . The crater is badly eroded and the rim wall has some openings. The inside is flat.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1979 after the Irish astronomer Eric Mervyn Lindsay .
