Route profile of the Linnaring 2005

The Linnaring is a race track in the east of Tallinn in Estonia . It was only used in the 2000s. Until 2005, the races were held on an access road to the city motorway. This circuit, also known as the Volkswagen City Circuit, was around 1.5 km long and was relatively dangerous. After a one-year break, an event was held in 2007 on a motorway circuit around one and a half kilometers west of the original location. Located directly at the KUMU , there were two straights about 800 m long to drive, which were connected by switchbacks and slowed down by chicanes marked with plastic barriers. In addition to demonstration laps of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 cars, a highlight was the Finnish Formula 3 Championship in 2005 and 2007.

This route should not be confused with the Pirita-Kose-Kloostrimetsa or the Kalevi Circuit , which is also located east of Tallinn. This course hosted the Estonian Tourist Trophy until the end of the 2000s . There Joey Dunlop fell fatally in 2000 .
