Lino Borges
Lino Borges ( Severo Alberto Borges Abreu ; born August 8, 1932 in Batabanó , † August 23, 2003 in Havana ) was a Cuban bolero singer .
Born into a farming family, Borges began his musical career at the age of 16 in the orchestra of JR González, to which he belonged for several years. He was then a member of several other groups and most recently of the Conjunto Saratoga for 20 years and was considered one of the most important male bolero singers in Cuba. In Venezuela he became famous in the 1960s with his version of Homero Parras Vida consentida . After appearing in Salón Bolero , he died of a lung disease in 2003 while preparing for a tour of the Dominican Republic.
