Linus (magazine)

Linus is an Italian comic magazine that has been published since April 1965. Named after a character from the Peanuts , the magazine was the first Italian-language comic magazine for adults.

Publication and thematic orientation

The first issue appeared in April 1965 with the eponymous Peanuts figure on the cover picture. In addition to the peanuts , Al Capp's Li'l Abner , Walt Kelly's Pogo and Chester Gould's Dick Tracy were also made available to the Italian audience. The Italian first publication of Barbarella also appeared first in Linus in 1967 . In addition to mainly American comics, local artists were also encouraged. The comic Neutron , in which Guido Crepax 's most famous comic figure Valentina appeared for the first time, appeared in the second edition of Linus in May 1965 . Over the years, Linus' thematic focus changed towards politics and satire.

alterlinus and alteralter

Shortly after the first publication, numerous special editions with thematic focuses were brought out under the name Linus . The magazine alterlinus appeared in January 1974 as a regular monthly supplement . In 1977 alterlinus was renamed alteralter . In 1986 was old age set.
