Alfredo Chiàppori

Alfredo Chiàppori (born August 27, 1943 in Lecco ) is an Italian cartoonist and illustrator .

After completing an art degree in Fano in 1965, Chiàppori worked as a painter before becoming a teacher of art and history in his native Lecco in 1967. In 1968 Chiàppori created his best-known cartoon character Up il Sovversivo , a man standing upside down on the ceiling. In 1969 he published his first drawings in the Italian comic magazine Linus . His breakthrough came in the early 1970s, after he had already published several books. Since then Chiàppori has drawn for various newspapers and magazines and illustrated numerous books.
