Linus Kefer

Linus Kefer (born July 21, 1909 in Gersten ; † January 10, 2001 in Linz ) was an Austrian educator , writer and translator.

Life

He came from Garsten . In 1933 he came into contact with National Socialism for the first time , whereupon he was dismissed from school service on suspicion of what was then illegal activity for the NSDAP .

After the Anschluss he found a job in the Reich Propaganda Office in Linz and worked for local daily newspapers. Shortly before starting military service , he was appointed head of the Reichsschrifttumskammer in the Gau Oberdonau .

He was u. a. Member of the Innviertel artists' guild . His works were published during the war and afterwards in part together with those of other authors.

He also translated Oliver Goldsmith's novel The Vicar of Wakefield into German.
